How to I Play on a PC?

I play currently play modern warfare on Playstation. However, I am interested in downloading the hack software and playing on my PC. How do you play on your PC - do you need to hook your computer up to the playstation, or do you buy a separate PC compatabile game? apologies for the stupid question - I just haven't played from a PC before.
