Black Ops Hacking: The Risk of Hosting a Server?

Postby temporary2 » Fri Nov 05, 2010 6:14 pm

I'm considering hosting a server for Black Ops. While I only use hacks discretely, there's obviously still a chance that VAC will detect the cheat and I'll get banned. If this happens, will I still be able to run my server using a new copy of the game under a different Steam ID? Or will that server be terminated, meaning I'll have to purchase a new one?

If anyone here ran their own server on COD 4 or WAW whilst hacking, I'd appreciate your input. I have no experience with running a dedi, so if someone could shed some light on how the process works, that'd be great.

Cheers.

Not sure on this, though it should not matter or get in the way of you running a server, I am sure your hack email is different that the server email you have

No risk whatsoever. You can admin your dedicated server by logging into the server via an admin tool or the server control panel with the recon username and password you setup, so you won't be losing control of the server even if your game account got VAC'ed or PB banned.

As said above + you can control the server via gameservers.com admin panel on their website to change the configs etc.., then just wait for a remote admin panel to be release, it will not be out in the first couple of days.
